"Now Arthur's Seat shall be my bed"

Der Flug ist gebucht. Am 2. Juni um 10:50 Uhr geht es los von Genf nach Edinburgh. Die Entscheidung war schnell gefasst, denn es sollte ein Direktflug sein. Es gab da also gar nicht so viel Auswahl, EasyJet war die einzige Alternative.
Ganz anders sah das bei der Apartment-Suche aus. Die eine Küche war zu klein, die andere war zu alt. Ein Apartment zu weit weg von der Innenstadt, das andere hatte kein W-LAN. Am spannensten war es natürlich die vielen Fotos anzusehen. Da kamen dann schnell Ausrufe wie:

-"S'hät huärä riese Näschter!" (Das sind super grosse Betten)

-"Das Sofa kann man fast nicht vor der Wand erkennen."

Bis dann Corinna endlich das Zepter in die Hand nahm und fragte: "Also, welches nää ma jetzt?" Da wir natürlich wie echte Business Frauen wirken wollen, hatten wir zwei 5-Sterne Apartments zur Auswahl: Knight Residence und Oakhill Apartments. Aber nur das Oakhill Apartment hatte auch den echten Duchess-Flair, welcher letztendlich zu unserer Entscheidung beigetragen hat. Warum auch nicht, wenn es soviel günstiger ist, als viele der 3-Sterne Apartments.

Am Ende haben wir uns für das Apartment mit dem nicht erkennbaren Sofa entschieden

The flight is booked. On the 2nd of June at 10:50 h we will leave from Geneva to Edinburgh. The decision was made very fast, as it had to be a direct flight. So, there were not many options, EasyJet was the only alternative.

The apartment-search was just the opposite. One kitchen was too small, another was too old. One apartment was too far from the city centre, others had no W-LAN. The most fascinating was looking at the many pictures. Some exclamations were made:

-"S'hät huärä riese Näschter!" (This has super huge beds.)

-"Das Sofa kann man fast nicht vor der Wand erkennen." (One can't even distinguish the sofa from the wall.)

Finally, Corinna took the lead and asked: "So, which one are we booking now?" As we wanted to look like real business women, we had two 5-star apartments to choose from: Knight Residence and Oakhill Apartments. But only the Oakhill Apartment had also this real Duchess-Flair, which finally helped us to make our choice. Why not, if the 5-star apartments are so much cheaper than many of the 3-star ones.

Das warten hat ein Ende! Wir haben unseren Duke gefunden. Um es mit den Worten unseres Wunschlehrers W. Burk zu sagen: "I decided to choose your group and to play the role of the duke in your group of duchesses:-)! And to answer your question: yes, I’m brave enough to join you!" (Ich habe mich für eure Gruppen entschieden und werde die Rolle des Herzogs in eurer Herzoginnen Gruppe übernehmen! Und um eure Frage zu beantworten: ja, ich bin tapfer genug um euch zu begleiten!). Was für ein Freudentaumel als wir diese Nachricht bekamen.
Auch sonst steht unserer Study Week nichts mehr im Wege und am Freitag können wir endlich unsere Flüge und das Apartment buchen.

The waiting has come to an End! We have found our Duke. To say it in the words of our desired lecturer: "I decided to choose your group and to play the role of the duke in your group of duchesses:-)! And to answer your question: yes, I’m brave enough to join you!" What an ecstasy when we heard about this notice.
So, there are no further obstacles in our way and on Friday we can finally proceed with the booking of our flights and of our apartment.

Für letzten Freitag war alles perfekt vorbereitet. Die Einladung an unseren Wunschlehrer schon vorgeschrieben, die letzten Änderungen an unserem provisorischen Programm waren gemacht, der Flyer musikalisch unterlegt. Zur Sicherheit hat Mélanie sich ihren Wecker auf 17 Uhr gestellt. Wir wollten es auf gar keinen Fall verpassen, die Einladung auch los zu schicken. Und jetzt?
Nur noch vier schlaflose Nächte. Am Mittwoch erfahren wir endlich, ob W. Burk uns auf unserer Study Week begleiten wird. Also, drückt uns die Daumen!

Everything was well prepared for last Friday. The invitation for our desired teacher was written in advance, the last changes on our provisional programme were made, our flyer was musically supported. As a reminder, Mélanie set her timer to 5 p.m.. Under no circumstances did we want to miss out on sending our invitation on time. And now?

Only four sleepless nights left. On Wednesday we will finally know, if W. Burk will join us on our Study Week. So, keep your fingers crossed!

1.666 km weit soll die Reise gehen. Zu alten Burgen, mystischen Landschaften und sagenumwobenen Untergrundwelten. Unsere Study Week geht nach Edinburgh und das zentrale Thema ist natürlich Mysterien und Legenden.
Diesen Freitag müssen wir schon unser provisorisches Programm einreichen. Ausserdem dürfen endlich unseren Wunschlehrer zu unserer Reise einladen, welcher uns dann während der Study Week begleiten wird. Bleibt auf dem Laufenden und erfahrt hier welcher Lehrer es sein wird!

1.666 km long will our journey be. To old castles, mystic landscapes and legendary underground worlds. Our Study Week will take us to Edinburgh and the central theme will be mysteries and legends, of course.

This Friday we already have to hand in our draft programme. Moreover, we can finally invite our desired teacher to our trip, who then will accompany us during our Study Week. Stay tuned and find out right here who our teacher is going to be!
